Detailed Description | ||||
Mark joined SKF as a Siebel developer to assist in the upgrade of a Siebel 6 Sales and Service implementation to Siebel 7.7 High Tech and Industrial Maintenance. When mark joined the project the repository upgrade had already taken place and the team was focused on resolving upgrade conflicts, resolving other issues introduced by the upgrade and reverting some areas of the application back to vanilla Siebel. The existing Siebel 6 implementation was very highly configured which resulted in a large number of issues arising from the upgrade to Siebel 7.7. Therefore a large amount of time was spent resolving upgrade conflicts and broken configuration. Some of the most highly configured areas were however reverted as much as possible back to vanilla Siebel. This involved importing SIF files taken from the vanilla repository, fixing any issues arising as a result, and re-applying any critical configuration not covered by the new vanilla application. Mark also worked on issues on Siebel's Order Management module around the creation of schedule payments, and on some of the workflows and business services used to interface Siebel with SKF's invoicing system. |
