Mark was employed on a short term contract to help with the Actuate reporting work load and a number of complex reporting requirements during the later stages of the build cycle. The more complex reporting requirements included the automated execution of reports based on a variable schedule defined in the Siebel application, and to have the output of the report either sent directly to the print room, saved in a network folder in Acrobat PDF format for later writing to CD, or automatically emailed in Acrobat PDF format directly to the customer, depending on parameters in the customer record. Given the large volumes of data involved on some of the reports, there was also the requirement to execute some reports directly against the database to improve the performance. There was also a requirement to include images in some reports taken from attachments in Siebel.
